We're located in the beautiful Lloyd Park area, typified by beautiful rows of purpose-built "Warner" flats, built at the turn of the century by a local industrialist.
Transport: Just 12 minutes walk to Walthamstow Central station - where you can hop the Victoria Line tube (zone 3, 23 mins to Oxford Circus) or overground (17 mins to Liverpool Street). Walk a few minutes further for a second overground station at Walthamstow Queens Road (on the Gospel Oak to Barking line, excellent connections to north London).
There's an excellent bus station too. And if you want to cycle into town, you can do much of the journey away from traffic by taking the canal towpath. Heading out of town, the north circular and M11 are easy to access, as is Stansted airport.
Green space: As for getting away from it all, Lloyd Park is just a block away, home to the William Morris Gallery, and the park is about to get a £4.5m lottery-funded revamp. A short walk in the other direction gets you to our local allotments. Nearby Epping Forest is great for walking in ancient woodland, rowing boats on the ponds in the summer, even catching the occasional glimpse of wild deer. There are some good pub lunches to be had too. We're also near the River Lea where you can walk, run or cycle the canal north into Hertfordshire or south into the City.
Shopping: Walthamstow Market, open Tuesday to Saturday, is famously the longest street market in Europe and great for bargain fruit, veg and more. There's also a Farmers' Market every Sunday in the town square. The Mall shopping centre is home to all the high street shopping essentials. And we have excellent transport links to nearby Stratford where they're building Westfield Stratford City in time for the Olympics - at 1.9 million square feet, it will be the largest urban shopping centre in Europe.
If you're looking for something smaller scale, Walthamstow Village is just a short walk away, home to some quirky little shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants including a trattoria, a tapas bar, a pizzeria, a modern British restaurant and probably the poshest Spar supermarket in the world.
Schools and nurseries: For nurseries, look no further than Lloyd Park Centre, just a block away, with a beautiful setting in the park and rated outstanding for nursery education by Ofsted. We're in the catchment for several local primaries including Greenleaf (two blocks away, rated outstanding).
